Ubongo is a puzzle game for up to 6 players. Solve the tricky puzzles as fast as possible to get the most gems and win!
Let's Start
Choose a color, that will be used for your gems.
Game Objective
Solve all puzzles in a round as fast as possible and gain up to 3 time gems for it. Be faster than your opponents to get even more gems! Because, in the end, the amount of gems decides the game.
Gameplay
Each game consists of 3 rounds.
- Round 1: three easy puzzles
- Round 2: two medium puzzles
- Round 3: one hard puzzle
You have a certain time to solve the puzzles of each round. The faster you are, the more gems you get. The time bar in top of the playing field shows how much time is remaining in this round and how many gems you will get. If you cannot solve all puzzles within time, you loose this round and get no gems.
Hint: Try to compensate this within the other rounds!
If you have to solve several puzzles within a round, a small preview up left, shows which will come and which you already solved.
How to solve a puzzle?
Try to fill the whites completely with the colored tiles. That means all white fields must be covered; there shall be no empty fields and the colored tiles shall not stick out of the white area.
If tiles overlap each other, a texture: 
will mark this for you.
You can rotate 
(tapclick once) and mirror 
(tapclick fast twice) all tiles.
Hint: Every puzzle can be solved!
Example
- (1) the green tile is rotated, the violet one mirrored
- (2) all tiles are moved on the white area
- (3) success!
As soon as a puzzle is solved, all tiles turn green and the next puzzle starts automatically. If you solved all puzzles of a round, the time is compared with your opponents and the gems are handed out.
End of Game
The player, who owns the most gems after the last round, wins the game.
How to get gems?
You can earn three gems each round for being fast. Watch the timer in the upper screen; the faster you are, the more gems you can secure. If you solve all puzzles of a round, you will get at least one gem!
You can also get gems by beating your opponents. You get one gem for every opponent that solved the round slower than you did.

All players can play the first round at the same time. So first tap, first play!
Ubongo as a puzzle
In this section the differences between puzzle and normal game are explained. If you do not know how to play the game, please check the explanaition above first.
Puzzles are played without opponents. Additionally you only play 2 levels. The puzzles in each level have 3 or 4 tiles each. For every solved puzzle you get a point. If you are fast enoigh, you get bonus points for the time as well!
Puzzles have a timer! In the upper middle of the screen is displayed how much time is left. If you run out of time, your current score is counted. So don't go on idle in the color selection.
With every retry on a day you get the same puzzle, like everyone else as well. So when you try again, you already know the solution for the puzzles. But there is alittle twist: the tiles and fields can be rotated or mirrored with every new try.
